The Minnesota Studies in International Development (MSID) is program is sponsored by the Learning Abroad Center of the University of Minnesota. It has taken place in Ecuador since 1989. It is offered as a one or two semester program. It allows the students to learn more about the notions of progress and modernization, contrasting worldviews (western and indigenous) and the contradictions and impacts on the environment and living conditions of the people.
