All the students may live with an Ecuadorian family as paying guests, and are entitled to the use of a private room, access to the home facilities, and two meals a day.

The students are required to fill out a Home Stay Questionnaire, which is submitted to the participating Universities or directly to us. A matching process on the student and family interests and characteristics is established. Fundación Cimas has an active data base of families, which have been carefully screened through an active identification process done by the Family Coordinator, and by evaluations of past students. The student is informed about the family: characteristics, address, etc. before they arrive in Quito.

Most of the families are middle class, living within two or three miles from Cimas
