OPPORTUNITIES TO SUPPORT
FOR MARGINAL COMMUNITIES
Fundación Cimas del Ecuador has been supporting and stimulating
a new type of North-South network, based on solidarity, cooperation and
inclusion of different ways of being, as a way to construct alternatives
to the current world crisis.
As part of a larger and long term effort to find a local alternative development
in rural communities in Ecuador, Cimas is facilitating simple and low
cost, and yet effective, interventions at the local community levels in
Pedro Moncayo County in the Pichincha
Province of Ecuador.
We invite you to be part of these solutions by making a donation to support:
a) A child or young adult to complete high school and /or university education.
Most rural communities have an elementary school, while high school is
located in the county seat. For this reason, students willing to continue
with high school need to travel to some distant places, which demand resources
that their families can not meet. Your contribution of one dollar a day
could make a life time difference for an underprivileged student. Some
of our early sponsored students are already pursuing university degrees.
With your contribution you will receive a picture and information about
your sponsored student, letter, grade report and found statements.
b) A poor elderly person. Your contribution of one dollar a day will allow
an elderly person to receive 2 meals a day, basic occupational therapy,
medical supervision in an adult community day care center and social activities
and output.
c) Emergency medical fund. On occasion a poor child, woman or elderly
person requires more complex medical interventions, and therefore, financial
assistance. We will appreciate any kind of support that you could give
to poor communities in the rural areas of Ecuador.
Please fill out the attached form and stimulate other people to be part
of this effort.
Fundación Cimas del Ecuador guarantees that your donations will
reach the specific targeted group. You will receive regular information
about the beneficiary and the destination of your funds. Please also share
this information with people who that you think might be interest in joining
this effort.
Cimas has had a long relationship with several international organizations
and invidual who have supported these program. Please feel free to contact
them if you have questions about Cimas´s record in management donations.
