COASTAL REGION

The Pacific lowlands, known in Ecuador as la Costa, consist of a belt of tropical lowlands. In the South, the Gulf of Guayaquil pushes eastward near the base of the Andes. It holds many spectacular beaches, some of the best in Latin America. Most of the agriculture for exportation takes place in this region (bananas, coffee, cocoa, palms, etc.).

You may be able to find wetlands and mangrove areas, which produce more than 4 times the energy than the most efficient agricultural production in the world.
